“The key to great design is capturing the spirit of the client and the essence of the space”

New Normal has been responsible for bringing up 360 Degree transformation in the Hotel Interior design and continues to impact & influence every aspect of design.

In this Blog post we shed light on what are 10 Hotels Interior Design trends & why are they compelling us to rethink interiors.

So, let’s Hop On & Read On…

The major factors that will govern the new age designs are;

  • Social Distancing
  • Hygiene Protocols
  • Maximum Contactless points
  • Indigenous Cultures

HEALTH AT THE FOREFRONT
Health and safety will be the key consideration that will influence every aspect of design from the chair, table to grand design elements.

COMPACT TO LARGE
Public spaces within hotels like lounges, lobby, waiting areas, banquets will become more spacious to prevent overcrowding and encourage social distancing.

TOUCHLESS ENTRANCES
Main entry point to entry doors within the will be sensor based & activated and operated doors. Room doors can be controlled by phone

HYBRID SERVICE
Self-service buffets will be replaced by fully / semi-serviced buffets with some basic table side service. New Age service will also focus on grab-and-go finger foods based meals or cocktail concoction pouches. Research is being executed in these areas. Strategically placed Vending machines dispensing various beverages will be a new Hit.

QR MAZES
QR stands for Quick Response codes. QR Codes are now ubiquitous and are truly making dining “contactless” in every sense. From checking the menu, ordering the food, and even paying the bill... They are here to stay…

PHYGITAL IS IN
Phygital is a blend of (Physical + Digital) Hotels are revamping their Conference Halls, Meeting Rooms so that events in a hybrid format (Actual + Virtual) can be executed.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN ELEMENTS
Over-sized windows for natural lighting, Nonporous easy to clean floorings and surfaces, carefully selected plants for maximum oxygenation, natural building materials, locally grown food for cooking, electronic water faucets, recycling bins, and many more.

HYGIENE INTERPRETATION SIGNS
Signboards reminding guests about Do’s & Don’ts pertaining to safety and hygiene will be placed in the Hotels throughout. They act as reminders for the guests to follow safety protocols.

PANDEMIC PROOF HVAC
HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning. Although expensive Hotels will still invest in New Age HVAC Systems.

New Age HVAC Systems use high-intensity airflow systems, regulate room pressure levels and control room temperature based on occupancy. They are designed to keep virus at bay.

GET OUT GET GOING
Closed and confined spaces with more crowd raise the threat. So, today everyone aspires to operate in Fresh Air, sunlight, nature & greens. Bearing this in mind Hotel Designers will be more focused on making the exteriors user ready for multiple reasons & functions.

The epidemic has expedited some trends that had already begun to emerge in the hotel industry, such as a higher desire for versatility, technological capabilities, sustainability, and the world's transformation to a 24/7 on-the-grid lifestyle. As a result, it is more crucial than ever for hoteliers to develop benchmarks, make the required changes, and prioritize health & safety thus rebinding tougher than ever before.

And in conclusion, As Steve Jobs has rightly said, “Design is not what it feels like or looks like. Design is how it works.”
